Whitefish seeks to enrich the educational experiences offered through their schools by fostering physical fitness and well-being through a variety of athletic and extra-curricular programs.

The enhanced infrastructure proposed by the Athletic Improvements bond seeks to fuel essential upgrades to the athletic facilities at Whitefish High School.

The improvements will cater to the growing student population that participates in these activities and provide district-owned facilities for numerous athletic programs for years to come.

The Athletic Improvements Bond will create the following :

  • Modern, Cost-Effective, and District-Owned Facilities - Whitefish currently leases and pays to maintain a third-party facility

  • Regulation 10-Lane Track, Long Jump Pits and Areas for Additional Track and Field Events that will both accommodate program growth and the ability to host meets - the current condition of the track and field area renders Whitefish ineligible to host state and regional meets

  • District-Owned Football Field with standard goalposts, 1,500 seat grandstand and score board

  • Admissions, Concessions & Restroom Facility - current facilities are in disrepair and only porta potties are available for athletes and spectators at this time

  • Additional Parking - to relieve parking congestion in surrounding neighborhoods and accommodate additional spectators

  • Grass Practice/Multipurpose Field - area of opportunity for further development for soccer and other sports with additional donor funding

  • Accessibility Compliance - the current facilities are not ADA compliant limiting athletes/spectators with disabilities

  • Community Usage - community members will have access to track use for walking, jogging, fitness, etc.
